Who is Ganesh?
Ganesh is a very odd-looking and wonderful god in Hindu mythology. If you visit India you will see temples built for him in every village. Ganesh is the cute cuddly son of Parvati, the great mother goddess and Shiva, the God of destruction. Ganesh is the elephant-headded god who removes obstacles and makes everything right for us on planet earth. He makes wishes come true, only if they are good wishes and helps us find solutions to our difficulties. With his pet mouse, they go wherever they are needed. He inspires people to love one another, to play beautiful music, paint lovely pictures or write interesting books. He will also help if you are faced with an injustice and know that thanks to Ganesh right will prevail over wrong.
So please ask Ganesh to help you.
Helpful tip
If you are afraid of the dark, stick a picture of Ganesh on your wall and ask him to keep you safe while you sleep. It really works, just try it. You can print and colour the picture below of Ganesh and his friendly mouse sidekick.

Letter to parents:
Welcome to the living in the heart: a child's birthright. Each week will follow the basic format :
- snack
- Yoga stretch and energetic awareness exercises
- meditation and journal exercise (written or artistic)*
- Sharing
- Learning module
-Craft, stories and/or poetry*
* we may only have time for 1 of these 2 units each week so we will alternate them as required.
8 learning modules will be spread out over 13 weeks. Some of the modules will be distributed across a couple of workshops as some cover more content, may require homework, or have other extenuating circumstances.
The learning modules cover the "other fun stuff" children will not learn at school. The material will help them see their environment in a new light and give them a new perspective on the world around them and their place in it. These modules are based on esoteric teachings gleaned from the ancient wisdom of various mystery schools. as much as possible we attempt to give the source of the information and encourage students (and their parents) to continue their own enquiry and exploration into topics they find interesting and fun. Often there is no right, no wrong and no logical way to prove certain information. Our philosophy behind these learning modules is to expose our children to different ideas that require the use of the intuitive (or right) side of the brain, a side of the brain neglected in the traditional school system and our society as a whole. The right side of the brain leads to true joy and bliss.
The 9 topics we will cover and these may be subject to change are: numbers, colours, angels and gods and goddesses of mythology, elements, patterns, shapes, our body, the world, history and nature.
Thank you for being part of the maiden voyage of this workshop series, a pioneer in its field. I so look forward to sharing this all with you.
Lots of love
Nicky
