I am a yoga and meditation teacher. I completed my medicine wheel training with the Four Winds Society and studied directly with international Shaman Alberto Villoldo from 2007 to 2008. In 2008, I founded Alchymia Centre Inc. as a vehicle to promote a holistic path to health and wellness. In the summer of 2009, I became certififed as a Kripalu Yoga Teacher to combine postures and breath work with energy work.
I am passionate about teaching people about energy and how energy moves within and around the body. I teach Kripalu yoga to adults, I teach yoga to children through my children's program called "yoga fun" that incorporates yoga and games .I host a radio show on blogtalkradio and write a weekly blog for Female Fundamentals; the blog for women who love to live as well as for my blog site Stepping into consciousness; all about tapping into joy and inspiration.
I am currently working on a book entitled "Stepping into Consciousness: a guide to living a life of joy, meaning & abundance". My interests include yoga, skiing, riding, hiking, snowshoeing, meditating, gardening, reading and enjoying time with my husband and three beautiful daughters. I am preparing to begin my 500 hour yoga teacher training certification at kripalu in 2011.
Prior to teaching yoga and meditation. I attended Villa Ste Marcelline, College Jean de Brebeuf and then Concordia University, where I completed a bachelor of Commerce. I worked in human resources for an engineering firm for several years before my children were born.
From 1992 to 2000, when my children were young, I was involved in a number of community and charitable organisations, including founding a playgroup for mothers and children in the Church of St. Andrew's and St. Paul's in Montreal, organizing art and pilates workshops in the town where we lived in England and sitting on various ball committess for the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the McCord Museum back in Montreal.
From 2006 to 2008, I sat on the board of the Batshaw Foundation and later became its president from 2007 to 2008. I hosted a tribute for Manny Batshaw with the Batshaw Foundation in 2007.
Please see below the list of classes and training I have taken as well as the classes, workshops and talks I have given.
